Awkward., Season 5

This show started when I was in high school and I enjoyed it, even though Jenna’s facial expressions when they showed her thinking out loud was almost painful to watch. Another frustrating aspect of the show is that all of those spoken thoughts revolve around Matty- yes, I get it, their relationship is a major role in it but come on. They may try to show some type of character development but really Jenna has stayed the same whiney, Matty-obsessed girl she started off as in season 1. It’s funny because almost every other character has more complexity and growth to them throughout the series (even in small ways) than Jenna. Still I found it entertaining, just really hate Jenna and the actress’ performance of her. The real thing that I find interesting is how they chose to continue this show after graduation. Graduation would have been the perfect place to end it, leave us guessing where the characters may have gone. Instead they’ve chosen to continue it set in the summer after freshman year which feels so incredibly forced it’s ridiculous. It at least should’ve started as it’s own season, feels like they tried to start a whole new show mid season. I’m not even sure how they could come up with a decent ending now, unless they just plan on really riding this thing out and have them all come home and go to the same college or skip another school year. I’ll keep following now just out of curiosity.

This show, in its 5th season is still just as entertaining and funny and smart as ever. I love it!

I love the show, I love the ideal of Matty n Jenna getting back together. Matty is a stud he is my favorite on the show

Show had a good start but now it's turned into an endless lame cycle of Jenna and Matty
