Description

Maya DiMeo is the mom who will do anything for her husband, Jimmy, and kids Ray, Dylan, and JJ, her eldest son with cerebral palsy. In Season 2 of this amusing and often unexpected comedy, the family along with JJ’s aide, Kenneth, are reunited after JJ’s first-time summer camp adventure. As we move into the new school year, the DiMeos, who have always been on the search to find the right school support for JJ, are faced with a new and unfamiliar reality. The DiMeo kids are going to continue at the same school! This is uncharted territory for the DiMeos but, as always, they will find a fun balance in everything they do while adjusting to the concept of becoming actual members of a community.

    I watch this show with my mom every Wednesday. In my opinion The Goldbergs is a better show. I'd rate Speechless a 4/10 and The Goldbergs a 6/10.

    ... that this type of show made it to prime time TV. We're ready for it, and it's well done. Minnie Driver's character pushes to the edge of obnoxious, but pulls back at the last second. It's good to see the dad character develop some substance and not be just a "dummy dad" as in so many previous sit-coms. Quirky, but entertaining in a whole new way. My brother also had CP, but his life started in the 50s, so it was a whole different life and social perspective. Our family had a very different experience, but we had our moments. I think he would have liked JJ. (I reserve the option to change my rating after I've seen more episodes, but so far, so good.)

    Good pilot, so some high hopes. hope the supporting adult actors improve so they aren't so ridiculous, and it will have the deep quality potential.

    Admire the concept, always liked Minnie Driver, so what could go wrong? Unfortunately a lot. Pilots are tricky. And this one comes across as quite forced and over acted, sometimes veering off into caricatures. However I am rooting for this show to get better soon and find its rhythm over the next few episodes.
