    This show is rated for 4-7 year olds, and if increasing verbal language is its point then ok the age rating makes sense. Besides there is a cute dog and bright colors. However the content seems more geared for 8-10 year olds. And for learners of EL. The vocabulary words are more of a 2nd grade 3rd grade level (sympathy vs. empathy; Greek Myths, adverbs, democracy, etc..). The characters themselves are in 4th grade, with some in middle school. My son is 8 and we both love them. The words they highlight show up in his everyday conversation and writing at school. The humor is intelligent, full of puns, and fresh,; I love the diverse characters and the bilingual mom/cousin, and the subtle push for science.

    My sister and I would watch this after school even though we were in middle school. It meant is for younger kids, but the humor is fresh and fun. Even my mom enjoyed it! Dog lovers in particular will laugh at Martha's take on a dog's life. It's unfortunate that this show had such a short run :(.

    This is a cartoon I love watching with my daughter!! I mean when a character says "does irritating mean fun?" what's not too love!!!! PBS better keep this show forever!!!

    the kid i babysit loves this show and out of all the shows i've watched this one is actually very cute and fun not annoying like some. a lot of the stuff on PBS is cute and fun.

    We love this show. It is so funny, and I am 36 years old! It is the only cartoon that I will watch with the kids, and actually wake them up for. The kids love learning the new words. and I love the humor. One of my favorite episodes is when Martha puts on a talent show to help the shelter dogs get adopted. And the cranky old lady who complains of her sciatica "Oh, my sciatica!" I also really like that the kids are a little older and don't talk in the most annoying voices ever. This is the best cartoon since I was a kid.

    It really is a LITTLE KID show! People older than 5 will probably find it annoying, like me! But other than that, it does teach little kids some stuff and is entertaining to them.
